Job Details

This position is responsible for providing match support to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, constructive and satisfying relationships between children and volunteers, and a strong sense of affiliation with BBBS on the part of volunteers. The successful incumbent will produce positive outcomes in the following areas: match closure rate, frequency of match closures, average match length, volunteer rematch rate, and customer satisfaction.


This position requires a candidate who can successfully build relationships with families and volunteers, and communicate effectively both in-person and via telephone in order to execute the following relational support skills: guiding, supporting, confronting, advising and/or negotiating. To be considered, this position requires a minimum Bachelor's degree in social services, human resources or related field preferred, assessment and relationship development experience with child and adult populations, and an understanding of child development and family dynamics.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska matches children and youth aged 6 - 18 (older in some programs) with caring volunteers who we recruit, screen and provide ongoing training and support for in order to form relationships that help children succeed in school and in life.
